RNC co-chair Lara Trump continues to moonlight as a singer, and social media continues to be unimpressed.
Last week, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law released “Hero,” a duet with Florida-based singer Madeline Jaymes that is dedicated to first responders.
A clip from the music video started to go viral on Labor Day.
Jaymes starts the song, but Lara Trump sings the second verse. The lyrics include: “Without your bravery, we’re all out of luck/ No, this can’t be denied /You got to be special/ It takes a lot to put you last and everybody first /With your heart they could make gold.”
The subject matter was ironic, considering Trump’s father-in-law incited the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, which led to a thousand documented assaults against law enforcement over the course of the day.
The complete video can be seen at the bottom, but you can get a taste from this social media post.
The reaction to Lara Trump’s singing was ... not great.
Other people had questions about the music video.
Lara Trump did get a little bit of praise, wrapped in a lot of snark.
“Pretty brave of Lara Trump to release a music video when she can’t sing. That’s only normal if you’re a nepo RNC Chairwoman,” a post from Veterans For Responsible Leadership said.
