There was also video...

People were amused by Lily Allen's reaction after she found herself at a garden party with some rather controversial guests.

On Sunday, the singer tweeted pictures of guests from the party including media mogul Rupert Murdoch, then-Ukip leader Nigel Farage and Conservative leader candidate Liam Fox.

Look at those shoes!

Farage and Fox campaigned for Britain to leave the European Union, which Murdoch called "wonderful".

She also posted a video of Fox, Farage and Murdoch eating together.

At the end of the video she asked them to say hello - they did not respond - before calling them "wankers".

Leave.eu chair and Ukip donor Arron Banks challenged Allen over why she was attending the event, to which she responded that she had no idea who would be attending.

What are you doing there if you don't like the company ! https://t.co/N197a3UUN1

@Arron_banks funnily enough they didn't send a copy of the gust list along with the invite.

Channel 4 reporter Ciaran Jenkins commented on Farage's attendance...

Nigel Farage, opponent of political & media elites, must really be hating this lunch. https://t.co/LixcFESrwT

@lilyallen ...aren't you meant to throw salt over your shoulder if Satan(s) is standing behind you?

@lilyallen @RachieJ40 It reminds me of the opening scene from the Godfather where they have the Sicilian wedding in New York.

The party was hosted by Evening Standard owner Evgeny Lebedev.
