Linda Lusardi and her husband Sam Kane have both been hospitalised after showing symptoms of coronavirus.
Earlier this week, the former Loose Women and Dancing On Ice star said she was “extremely” unwell with the virus on social media, later telling fans she was “taking it one day at a time” but had “never felt so ill”.
Sam has since posted an update on his Facebook page, revealing that both he and Linda had been “taken to hospital” and were awaiting tests for Covid-19.
“To all who know us. Linda and I have been taken to hospital and will be tested for Covid 19 at some point very soon,” he wrote. “We are both stable but very ill.”
Sam – who has appeared in Coronation Street and Emmerdale in the past – added: “Thank you for all of your messages of support. Could I please ask that you hold off from any messaging at this time.
“Your concern means the world to us. Prayers and positivity in abundance please if you have time. Thank you all. Stay safe.”
Linda previously revealed that she and Sam had been “in isolation” since first exhibiting symptoms of the virus.
A number of high-profile stars have now been affected by the pandemic, with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson among the first to reveal that they’d tested positive for Covid-19.
Since then, Luther actor Idris Elba, Watch What Happens Live presenter Andy Cohen and former GMTV host Fiona Phillips have also shared with their fans that they have coronavirus.
