Linda Lusardi is “still far from well” but “fighting and winning” after being diagnosed with coronavirus, her husband Sam Kane has revealed.
The former model and Loose Women presenter and her husband both tested positive for Covid-19 last week, having both been hospitalised after showing symptoms of the virus.
Since then, Sam has returned home and begun self-isolating, and has been sharing updates about Linda’s condition on Facebook while she remains in hospital.
But despite having revealed over the weekend that Linda had “turned a corner”, he said on Tuesday that she is still “nowhere near out of the woods”.
“[Linda is] still on oxygen and still on a drip, very poorly,” he wrote on Facebook. “She’s eating and drinking regularly. Just needs her oxygen levels to start taking care of themselves before the next big push can happen.
“She’s still far from well and nowhere near out of the woods. Send your thoughts, Your love, your prayers and your positivity to her. She needs all the help she can get right now.”
However, he ended on an optimistic note, assuring everyone: “She’s fighting and she is winning. Thank you for all of your amazing and kind messages. So much love.”
In a previous update, Sam urged people to take the pandemic more seriously, insisting: “I can’t stress enough that this is not ‘just a flu bug’. I’ve watched this take my girl to death’s door. I’ve felt it take me there,” he insisted.
“It’s a cruel, vile, remorseless, relentless, dark sickness. It was like three hands. One that’s strangling you. One pushing your face down as it does. The other one ripping your heart out of your chest and it just doesn’t stop... for days. You’re totally helpless and in its grasp.
“It’s nothing like flu. Please stop going out. Passing this around will mean it just takes longer till we’re back to normal. Please stay safe people. Two weeks away from anyone else outside your family should see this gone. It’s that simple. Please stay in.”
A number of stars have tested positive for coronavirus in the last two weeks, including Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Idris Elba and former GMTV host Fiona Phillips.
James Bond star Olga Kurylenko shared her diagnosis last week, but has since said she’s “completely recovered”.
