Line Of Duty star Martin Compston has teased that we’re in for another thrilling series when the hit police drama returns in 2020.
While we usually have to wait a year or two between series of Line Of Duty, it was confirmed shortly after the shocking ending of series five that the wheels were already in motion for the next run.
And although he remained tight-lipped on the specifics, Martin – who plays D.S. Steve Arnott in the Bafta-nominated show, has hinted that we’re in for another wild ride in series six.
Posting a photo of the front cover of his script on Instagram, Martin wrote on Saturday: “Guys... I’m scared.”
He also shared the same image on his Instagram Story, joking: “Don’t look directly at it.”
While we don’t know much about what’s in store in series six of Line Of Duty, what we do know is that AC-12 are going to have a brand new adversary to contend with.
It’s already been confirmed that Kelly Macdonald will be joining the cast in the new episodes, playing a brand new Detective Chief Inspector who has been dubbed the “most enigmatic adversary AC-12 have ever faced”.
The most recent series of Line Of Duty concluded earlier this year and revealed legal counsel Gill Biggeloe had been setting up AC-12 boss Ted Hastings as mysterious organised crime boss “H”.
It was later confirmed from a closer examination of DI Matthew Cottan’s dying declaration that “H” was actually a clue rather than a person, indicating there are four high ranking officers in league with organised crime.
