Lord Sugar has revealed his sister Shirley has died after becoming “another victim of Covid” – just two weeks after his brother died from complications caused by the virus.
The Apprentice star posted a tribute to his sister on his social media pages in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Tweeting a picture of her, Lord Sugar wrote: “My eldest sister Shirley passed away today at the age of 88.
“She had been sick for a while but I guess Covid got her in the end to join our brother Derek, who passed two weeks ago. RIP SHIRL.”
He added on Instagram: “I guess another victim of Covid.”
Earlier this month, Lord Sugar paid tribute to his brother Derek, after coronavirus complicated his underlying health problems.
The business tycoon wrote: “He was a life long Spurs fan and my sister in law made me laugh in 1991 thanking me for buying Spurs for him.
“He will be sadly missed by the whole family. RIP BRO.”
Lord Sugar was a part-owner and chairman of Tottenham Hotspur from 1991 to 2001, selling his remaining stake in the football club in 2007.
The former Amstrad boss is now best known for fronting BBC reality show The Apprentice, which has been running since 2005.
