While the nation may be reeling from Michael’s shock decision to couple up with Joanna on Tuesday’s Love Island, two dumped islanders are backing the pair.
Lavena and Maria, who both left the villa following Tuesday’s dramatic recoupling, said they believe new couple Michael and Joanna will go the distance.
“I’m buzzing for Joanna,” said Lavena after being dumped from the villa. “She and Michael are so good together. I really like Michael. He seems besotted with her.”
The 23-year-old added: “I’d say that maybe Joanna and Michael have a long distance. I’d also say Molly-Mae and Tommy. After seeing her cry I knew it was real.”
Before going onto the show, the business developer from Croydon said: “If I had my pick, I’d probably go for Michael but I feel like he’s really coupled up.”
Maria Wild, 22, a VIP host from Croydon, who was also dumped on Tuesday night, added: “I can really see Joanna and Michael going the distance. I can see a lovely connection with those two and I’m 100% behind it.
“I can’t see Curtis and Amy going the distance. Just because I think there are a lot of holes there.”
The new Love Island couples are:
- Danny and Jourdan
- Anton and Belle
- Curtin and Amy
- Tommy and Molly-Mae
- Lucie and George
- Maura and Marvin
- Anna and Ovie
- Michael and Joanna
This means Amber and Jordan are now single, while Maria, Nabila, Lavena, Stevie, Dan and Dennon were dumped from the Island.
Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2.
