Former Love Island stars Chris Taylor and Harley Brash have announced they’re the first of this year’s couples to split after leaving the villa.
The pair were first rumoured to have ended their romance last week, with Chris confirming the reports on Monday morning, blaming their busy schedules for the break-up.
Sharing a photo of himself and Harley on Instagram, he wrote: “I’m sad to say that both Harley and I have parted ways and came to this decision last night, despite rumours from the media last week.
“Both of us have been very busy with separate opportunities and haven’t had enough quality time for each other.”
Chris continued: “We both have the upmost support and respect for one another and the decision was made amicably. I wish her all the best and will always be glad we rode the Love Island adventure together. I will be very proud of everything she has done and everything she’ll do… the future is bright crumpet go get ’em! [sic]”
Harley is yet to address the split on social media herself.
Chris and Harley made it to the final week of this year’s Love Island, but were shown the door ahead of the final in a quadruple-elimination.
Several of this year’s finalists have already landed new TV roles. Winner Amber Gill has already guest presented on Loose Women, while rumours have suggested she’s being lined up for the next series of Dancing On Ice.
Meanwhile, Maura Higgins is set to appear in an upcoming This Morning feature, which will see her travel around the country attempting various challenges.
Her boyfriend Curtis Pritchard, meanwhile, recently joined the team of BBC talent show The Greatest Dancer.
