It’s a case of one out, two in over in Love Island, where the contestants are set to be joined by a brand new duo.
In Tuesday night’s show, viewers were briefly introduced to new arrivals Maura Higgins and Elma Pazar, who’ll be keeping the existing Islanders company until the next recoupling.
Maura originally hails from Ireland, and works as both a model and grid girl, having previously appeared in a shoot alongside Liam Payne.
She’s adamant that she won’t be breaking up any full-blown romances, saying: “I think if you’ve put a label on something, boyfriend and girlfriend, then you just don’t go there. If there is a girl and a guy in there and they’ve put a label on it, I would never go there and I would hope that no one would do it to me.”
Eyelash technician Elma agrees, noting: “Girl code is common sense. What you don’t like being done to you, you wouldn’t do to someone else.”
On what she’s looking for in the villa, Elma describes her perfect man as a cross between last year’s Islanders Jack Fincham and Jack Fowler, saying: “I like the personality of them both. They are both quite funny. Jack Fowler had a great energy, which I’d bounce off really well.”
Maura says she’s also more into personality than looks, adding: “[’I’m] definitely [looking for] someone who makes me laugh. They have to have banter, without a doubt.”
Quite what Sherif Lanre’s exit means for the villa remains to be seen, as the women are now outnumbering the guys by quite a way.
Find out how Maura and Elma settle in when Love Island returns on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV2.
