After eight weeks of grafting, coupling up and listening to Maura say “fanny flutters”, the Love Island contestants are finally free from the villa and ready to get back to reality.
Well, ready to adjust to a new world, filled with #spon content and free clothes.
But before all of that can begin, they had to make the journey back to the UK –and like clockwork, snaps of them at the airport dropped on Wednesday afternoon.
We’re five series into Love Island now so this is something we’ve seen plenty of times before but quite frankly, we have some thoughts and questions…
It’s weird seeing them all in regular clothes
After eight weeks of watching the Islanders either a. Sitting around in swimwear or b. Dolled up for parties in the house, it felt odd to actually see them in regular trackies, trainers and hats.
How much did Jet2 pay for this product placement?
These are just two of the many (many) snaps which show the gang next to over the top Jet2 promotional materials:
It seems that before they could even think about shopping at duty free, the Love Islanders were subjected to a Jet2-themed photoshoot.
The finalists posed with everything from a check-in desk, to a bus, to the plane they were travelling on. Not quite the first class travel they were probably hoping for.
How has Amber adapted to being a celeb so quickly?
Fresh-faced with a black cap pulled over her eyes, the 21-year-old beauty therapist already looked every inch the showbiz regular.
She’s even perfected the Angelina Jolie red carpet leg pose:
Amazing work.
We did not know people still shared earphones like this
Well, apart from school kids on the bus.
What did regular holiday makers think of it all?
It must be quite disorientating to return from a week in Crete and suddenly see the man, the legend, Ovie Soko stood in front of you at passport control.
Do fans *actually* travel to Stansted to greet the finalists?
Sorry, but we’re very skeptical of this annual claim. Press Association’s reporter, who was at the airport, estimated that around 120 people were there this time around – but many of those are the Islanders’ friends and family.
Even Greg, who is from Limerick, was greeted by rugby pals who jetted in from Ireland especially.
Will Maura’s family be selling these t-shirts?
Their dedication to making #fannyflutters a thing is the definition of true devotion.
And what will Molly-Mae’s family do with this banner after today?
Recycle it for her birthdays, perhaps?
These kisses for the cameras are incredibly cringe:
Sorry, but they are.
