One of Lowe's newest store greeters has a clear nose for making people smile.
The home improvement company presented two of its newest hires on social media Tuesday, introducing a service dog named Blue and his owner, Owen.
"Our recent hire couldn't find a job due to brain injury & a support dog. So meet Blue, our customer service canine!" Lowe's Canada posted on Twitter.
The pair was seen outfitted with their very own vests. Blue wore a modified one for dogs.
The heartwarming snap predictably blew up online, receiving more than 22,000 Facebook likes and more than 8,000 shares within hours.
A spokeswoman for Lowe's, whose company motto is "never stop improving," echoed that excitement, telling The Huffington Post: "We're really proud to have Owen there and his dog."
Spokeswoman Sandy Indig said the pair will be the first employees many customers see when they arrive, as the duo will be greeting guests at a new store in North Regina, Saskatchewan.
Though Blue will be at Owen's side, she noted that he will be working so it'd be best to ask permission from Owen before reaching out to have a pet.
"My understanding is that the dog can be pet if invited by Owen because he's really there for Owen but if Owen invites them to pet the dog then it's OK," Indig said.
Blue is otherwise extremely friendly, she said, as well as "very calm, caring and compassionate."
"Never stop improving" is right! Bravo, Lowe's. Bravo.
