Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale actor Luke Perry is in hospital, amid reports he has suffered a stroke.
As reported by TMZ, paramedics were called to the 52-year-old star’s home in California on Thursday morning, with the US website claiming he’d had a stroke.
His representative confirmed to HuffPost UK that he was receiving medical attention, telling us: “Mr. Perry is currently under observation at the hospital.”
However, they offered no additional information about his condition.
Luke is best known for his role as Dylan McKay in the teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210, which he played for five years until he stepped down from the series in 1995.
He later returned for an additional two-year stint from 1998 to 2000.
More recently, Luke came to the attention of a new legion of fans as part of the cast of Riverdale, which airs on Netflix here in the UK.
In Riverdale, Luke stars as Fred Andrews, the father of the show’s main protagonist Archie, played by KJ Apa.
Earlier this week, it was announced that a rebooted version of Beverly Hills, 90210 was in the works, almost 20 years after it was last on the air.
A number of Luke’s former co-stars have signed onto the project, including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, though it was reported that Luke declined to take part.
In addition to his work in television, Luke is set to appear in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which is set in Los Angeles around the time of the Manson Family murders.
Luke stars as the real-life actor Wayne Maunder in the film, which also stars Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie.
