Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You is turning the grand old age of 25 this year, and to mark the milestone anniversary Mimi is celebrating with a Walkers Crisps advert, naturally.
And while it might not seem like the most natural celebrity endorsement ever, the results are suitably ridiculous.
The ad was released on Saturday morning, and it sees Mariah using her singing prowess to nab a bag of crisps from an elf.
It begins with the US star performing All I Want For Christmas Is You in a wintry music video setting, and after the director shouts cut, Mariah walks through the studio handing out presents to the crew, including a framed painting of herself riding a winged unicorn and a box full of doves.
She then faces a dilemma as both as she and a Christmas elf go to reach for the last bag of pigs in blankets-flavoured crisps.
Following a tussle, Mariah sings her famous high-pitched note to make the elf drop the bag so she can take them for herself.
She then takes the tiniest nibble out of a crisp, in a way that only Mariah could.
Iconic.
Mariah officially kicked off the festive season on Friday, with a video she posted on Twitter.
In the clip, she is seen going to sleep – in full make-up, of course – at 11.59pm on 31 October, only to be woken up a minute later to a phone call from Santa himself, sporting new hair and some festive pyjamas with her own face on them.
“Santa!” Mariah then excitedly declares down the phone, as the bells of All I Want For Christmas Is You begin to play. “It’s tiiiiiiime!”
Although the track has never actually topped the UK singles chart, it’s been number two on three different occasions, including 2017 and 2018.
