A man whose apparent hobby is asking people on Twitter what their favourite cheese is has made it to the highest levels of the Welsh government.

An account under the name “Joe Bangles CBE” was given the opportunity to put the pressing matter to first minister Mark Drakeford, who answered with more enthusiasm than anyone could have expected.

“Well that’s probably the hardest question I’ve had so far because I really like cheese,” he said.

“I always have ever since I was a tiny child and used to walk up to my grandparents on their farm and one of the things I used to look forward to when I got there was my grandmother would pass me a piece of cheese to eat.”

Fulfilling his patriotic obligations, Drakeford then insisted his favourite cheese was the Welsh classic Caerphilly.

But he added: “There are actually a lot of cheeses I like and I’ll be eating some of those this weekend.”

Bangles has been prolific on Twitter in recent months posing the question to many a celeb, plenty of whom were more than willing to provide and answer.
