‘Emmerdale’ star Mark Jordon has been charged with grievous bodily harm and assault after he allegedly attacked a 67-year-old man.
The actor, who plays Daz Spencer in the ITV soap, is accused of biting Andy Potts’ face at the Farrars Arms pub in Oldham, Greater Manchester in July this year.
The 53-year-old was arrested and then released under investigation following the alleged incident, which resulted in Mr Potts being treated for facial injuries.
Police confirmed to The Sun: “Jordon is charged with GBH and common assault.”
He is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on 8 November.
Following the alleged assault, Andy revealed he was having counselling and had not been able to return to his job as a delivery driver.
He told The Sun: “Jordon was like a wild animal. He bit my hand. Then he went for my thumb.
“He took no notice of my screams — he just bit me above my left eye.”
Mark joined the cast of ’Emmerdale’ in 2014. He previously played PC Phil Bellamy in ‘Heartbeat’ from 1994-2007, and had small roles in ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Hollyoaks’.
It is not known if the case will affect the actor’s role on ‘Emmerdale’, with a show spokesperson only commenting that it was a “personal matter”.
