Former “The View” co-host, Meghan McCain, is claiming that Jennifer Lopez was “deeply unpleasant” when she appeared on the ABC talk show.
During Friday’s episode of her “Citizen McCain” podcast, McCain, 39, who co-hosted the iconic talk show from 2017 to 2021, recalled the off putting encounter she had with the pop star, 54, when she was a guest.
“I, too, share similar negative stories that apparently the entire world does too,” the political commentator revealed. “I actually feel bad right now because we’re turning to a point where there’s bullying happening to J.Lo. She just is a deeply unpleasant person.”
McCain then remembered Lopez bringing the “biggest entourage I’ve ever seen” when she appeared on “The View.”
“[Her team] was more than Kim Kardashian and the president,” she continued. “I just don’t really understand why it was needed.”
Alleging that Lopez was “not nice,” she added, “You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising given that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful. When you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment… just fake it till you make it for 10 fucking minutes.”
McCain and her co-host, Miranda Wilkins, went on to accuse Lopez of attacking their podcast after they posted a TikTok in April of them declaring that Lopez is in her “flop era.”
“She had our video taken down for bullying,” McCain claimed. The blogger alleged that the video was eventually reinstated on the social media app while Wilkins joked, “We’re beefing with her right now.”
In the April clip, McCain doubled down on her displeasure for the “Atlas” actresses’ behavior, saying Lopez was not her “favorite” guest to have appeared on “The View” for an interview.
“I’m gonna get in so much trouble for this, but my big memory of J.Lo is there was a person whose entire job it was to hold up a mirror with lights while they were touching her up backstage,” McCain said at the time.
She added, “I remember being like, ‘That poor man. What a weird job.’”
HuffPost has reached out to Lopez’s rep for comment.
Last month, Lopez announced that she canceled her “This Is Me … Live” summer tour amid widespread rumors about her troubled marriage with actor Ben Affleck.
