Now in it's fourth year, the pro-posterior contests showcases the top female bottoms from each of Brazil's 27 states.

Brazilians vote for their favorite fanny online and the top 15 go cheek to cheek in the final, the Mirror reports.

This year, Indianara Carvalho earned the coveted title of Miss Bumbum, and a cash prize worth approximately $22,000.

"I did not expect to win, but of course I wanted to win," Carvalho told Latin Post. "I was well prepared. I am very honored to receive this title because it represents all Brazilian women."

The pageant was historic in many ways. Twin sisters Rafaella and Graziella Fornazieri made the cut, representing the states of Alagoas and Ácre.

In addition, Juliana Bittencortt was the first plus-size contestant to make the top 28 as did 39-yeasr-old Patricia Oliveira, the oldest contestant ever.

The big butt battle wasn't without controversy.

Contestant Livia Santos was disqualified after being accused of rigging the online voting by buying votes.

To be declared "Miss Bumbum" takes dedication, according to Miss Bumbum 2013 Dai Macedo."It's a lot of work, a lot of devotion," Macedo told Agence France-Presse by way of an interpreter. "I denied myself a lot of things. No nightclubs. No sweets. I went to the gym Saturdays and Sundays."
