The parents of missing Hull University student Libby Squire have made an emotional appeal for help in finding her.
Libby, 21, has been missing from her home in Hull since early on Friday following a night out with friends.
In the statement filmed by Humberside Police, Libby’s father, Russell, described his daughter as “our kind, thoughtful, beautiful girl, who is loved by so many people”.
He appealed for people to come forward with any information “no matter how small or irrelevant it may be”.
He added: “We just want you home.”
Libby’s mother Lisa’s voice broke with emotion as she spoke about her daughter.
She said: “Libby, my darling pie, we just want to know that you are safe.
“Please get in touch with us any way you can.
“The whole family is missing you, especially me and your dad, your sisters and your brother.
“I miss you so much it’s breaking my heart not knowing where you are. I love you.”
On Sunday, Squire said her daughter did arrive back to her student home before disappearing.
Libby disappeared late on Thursday night and police have said they are “extremely concerned” for her welfare.
The 21-year-old was reported missing after getting into a taxi outside the Welly Club on Beverley Road, Hull. She was last spotted on CCTV on that road near to the junction with Hayworth Street, at around 11.45pm on Thursday.
She believed to have got out of the vehicle a short while later near her home address on Wellesley Avenue.
Humberside Police said that she was then helped by a motorist who pulled over after spotting her on the street, with the force adding that the man in question has since contacted them and has “really helped out” with the search.
However in a Facebook post responding to someone asking why she had “got out of taxi before getting home”, Squire said her daughter had arrived back at the house before her disappearance.
“She got out of the taxi at her house. She was home … simple,” she wrote.
In a separate post she thanked the 200 “fantastic” students in Hull who had joined the search over the weekend.
The nursery worker added: “She is obviously loved by so many. Russell and I have taken great comfort in this.”
On Sunday, Humberside Police police announced that the Coastguard was aiding the hunt for the missing student by searching the River Hull.
Detective Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe said: “There are a number of leads we are following up and I want to offer my thanks to everyone who has come forward with information, your help has been invaluable.
“We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have been on Haworth Street, which is almost adjacent to Beresford Avenue, between 11.30pm and 12.30am as part of this line of enquiry, to understand Libby’s movements that night.
“Officers will be conducting further house to house enquiries in the Beresford Avenue area, Haworth Street and around Beverley Road today and special constables will be out on patrol in the areas.
“We have specialist teams again out today carrying out searches and we are working with Humberside Fire and Rescue and the Coastguard, who will be around the River Hull.”
Squire is described as 5ft 7in tall with long dark brown hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black leather jacket, black long-sleeved top and a black denim skirt with lace.
