MTV VMAs 2016 Nominations: Taylor Swift Snubbed, As Beyonce Leads With 11 Nominations

Kanye West has also received a nod.

It’s fair to say that Taylor Swift hasn’t always had the best luck when it comes to the MTV Video Music Awards - y’know, there was the infamous Kanye West incident of 2009 and last year’s pre-ceremony spat with Nicki Minaj - and this time around things aren’t much better.

Well, they’re a whole lot worse actually, as she hasn’t been nominated at all.

Beyonce's nods are for a number of the videos from her visual album 'Lemonade'

Taylor had three videos - ‘New Romantics’, ‘Out Of The Woods’ and ‘Wildest Dream’ - eligible for an award, but she’s received a grand total of zero nods, while Beyonce is out in the lead with a whooping 11.

Queen Bey will even be battling against herself in one category, which prompted this witty take on Twitter:

It gets even worse for Taylor when you look further down the list, as Kanye has also scooped a nomination for his controversial ‘Famous’ video, in which a naked waxwork of the ‘1989’ singer features, as he raps about how he ‘made that bitch famous’.

Calvin Harris and Rihanna have also landed themselves on the VMAs shortlist, thanks to the video for their track ‘This Is What You Came For’, which was penned by Calvin with his ex Taylor. Ouch.
