Mum Gives Her Daughter A Lesson In Gender Equality In The Best Way Possible

Girls can be superheroes too👸

Liz Mayes was helping her seven-year-old daughter out with her English homework when she decided to make a little suggestion of her own.

The mother-of-two decided that the worksheet, provided by the school, had been a little unfairly biased towards the male superheroes of the world.

All of the illustrations were of men dressed in capes and masks.

So when her daughter had a chance to write her own sentence at the end, she suggested that she might readdress the balance, writing: “Girls can be superheroes too.”

The photo was posted to the Everyday Sexism Twitter page, and has already been liked over 200 times in three hours.

@lizmayes5 great! I remember my daughter's eyes opening wide when she saw a female superhero, realising that she too could be a superhero :)
