NatWest and Royal Bank Of Scotland (RBS) customers have experienced issues using the bank’s app and online banking services this morning, reporting problems from as early as 5AM.
Numerous users have shared screenshots of an error screen that states “Sorry, we are struggling to establish a connection with you” and urges customers to check their internet connections:
Despite what the error message states, the problem is at the banks’ end.
The issues mean customers cannot transfer money or make payments online but telephone banking and ATMs are still in operation.
At 7AM, NatWest posted a statement on Twitter, which read: “We’re aware of some issues on our Online and Mobile Banking services and are working hard to fix them.
“Telephone Banking and ATMs are available. Sorry and thanks for your patience.”
NatWest is a subsidiary of RBS, which also posted on Twitter to say it was “aware of some issues on our Digital and Mobile Banking services and working hard to fix them”.
“Sorry and thanks for your patience,” they added.
The glitch comes a day after some Barclays customers were left struggling to log in to their accounts due to a technical problem.
