EAT: Booty's Street Food Restaurant, Bywater
The concept behind this restaurant is simple: journalist Nick Vivion travelled the world, ate everything he could and brought his favourite recipes back to New Orleans. He then used those recipes to recreate some of the most delicious street food plates from across the globe. The result is this charming eatery, and the food is just incredible. Everything is served either on a skewer, small plate or in a cone, designed to eat with your hands and to share. Though you certainly won't want to share a bite once you've tasted this delicious fare...This is by far one of the best places to dine in the city. Oh, and they even accept Bitcoin!

PLAY: Frenchmen Street, right by the French Quarter
Two blocks of varied music clubs, interesting bars and great little 24-hour eateries make Frenchmen Street one of this city's very best offerings - at least for those seeking more than the neon lights of the infamous Bourbon Street. Key music hotspots (also serving drinks and food) include Snug Harbor, The Spotted Cat and The Maison, and, perhaps best of all, most venues in this area boast free entry and cheap booze. Make sure you drop into Celebration Distillation: Old New Orleans Rum for a distillery tour and a taste of the local stuff too.

STAY: Q&C Hotel, Central Business District
This quirky boutique hotel is just a five minute walk from Canal Street, one of the city's main hubs, full of restaurants, shops and cafes. Exposed brick walls and hardwood floors combined with unique furnishings and creative design make the whole property an intriguing mix of warm, cozy, sophisticated and modern. The stylish, contemporary rooms come with super comfy beds, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, flat-screen TVs and Keurig coffee machines, and some offer skyline views and Apple TV. The bar serves a small assortment of lights meals and snacks for breakfast and dinner, as well as a full range of drinks from early 'til late.
