Nicole Kidman Debuts Striking New Look For 'Top Of The Lake' Series 2

'Top of the Lake' Series 2 will air next year.

Nicole Kidman is sporting a dramatically different look from her customary red-carpet style for her role in the forthcoming second series of Antipodean drama ‘Top of the Lake’.

The first picture of the Oscar winner sees her looking grey-haired and wearing minimal makeup for her role of Julia, an Australian mother, whose story will intertwine with that of Detective Robin Griffin, played by Golden Globe winner Elisabeth Moss.

The second series will be directed once again by Jane Campion, and will pick up four years after the explosive ending of the first, this time with Robin returned to Sydney from her hometown in New Zealand.

When the body of an Asian girl washes up on Bondi Beach, there appears little hope of finding the killer, until Robin realises “China Girl” didn’t die alone. Robin’s search to discover “China Girl’s” identity takes her into the city’s criminal underbelly and also on a path around her own troubles once again.

Elisabeth Moss collected a Golden Globe for her central role in the first series, while the show itself picked up an Emmy Award for its striking cinematography of the New Zealand landscape.

Top of the Lake: China Girl’ will broadcast on BBC Two in 2017.
