Noel Edmonds has called out ‘This Morning’ host Phillip Schofield, accusing him of “stitching him up" during his recent interview on the daytime show.
Last week, Noel appeared on ‘This Morning’ to talk about his controversial attitudes towards cancer prevention, having previously faced a backlash when he tweeted that a negative attitude can cause cancer, claiming it can be cured by an electronic box.
During the interview, Phil suggested that Noel’s comments could be seen as “insensitive”, to which the ‘Deal Or No Deal’ host responded: “I think you’re completely missing the point here.
Noel has now had his say on the interview, and it seems he’s suitably unimpressed with Schofe’s line of questioning.
As reported by The Mirror, Noel said: “The style of questioning was aggressive and disrespectful to the viewer. I am always prepared to give straight answers to straight questions but I wasn’t given time to respond.”
Addressing Phillip directly, he added: “Phil, trying to be Jeremy Paxman doesn’t suit you and at least JP gives his guest the chance to answer… if you are unlucky enough to be seriously ill, I promise I won't be so callous and I will show you respect, sympathy and compassion.”
An ITV spokesperson for Phillip has insisted: “It’s essential to ask challenging questions on behalf of our viewers. That might occasionally mean a clash of views but we would never be deliberately rude or disrespectful.”
