The first trailer for the upcoming seventh and final series of Orange Is The New Black has now been released.
After six years, 12 Emmy wins and countless twists and turns, the groundbreaking Netflix show comes to an end next month, with the new trailer showing Piper getting to grips with the outside world, having been released from Litchfield at the end of series six.
“I’m trying to get back on my feet… now this is my life,” Piper explains, interspersed with scenes of her walking down a New York street, taking a urine test and trying to get a job.
Meanwhile, back in Litchfield, it’s not clear exactly what’s in store for the remaining inmates (as Daya says at the end “no spoilers!”), though it’s teased that changes are coming as Suzanne teases she really wants “ice cream… and justice”.
The trailer also hints that as well as Piper and Sophia (who are reunited at what appears to be the latter’s very own hair salon), there may be other characters being released, as both Alex and Lorna are seen out of their Litchfield uniforms, and Suzanne comes face to face with a chicken.
Several characters who went overlooked due to changes in series 6 are also seen in the trailer, though it remains to be seen whether this was new footage or flashbacks, as Flores is still seen in her prison uniform, despite it being suggested that she was being deported when we last saw her.
With just a month to go until the new episodes of Orange Is The New Black debut on Netflix, this is the first look we’ve had at the new series, with the first teaser trailer simply showing the cast singing the show’s theme tune as they walk around the set.
Orange Is The New Black series 7 debuts on Netflix on July 26.
