Oritsé Williams’s management have issued a statement to say he denies rape, after being arrested over an allegation made against him.
On Sunday (11 December), the former JLS singer found himself at the centre of reports surrounding an incident that allegedly took place in the early hours of the morning on Friday 2 December.
His management, 10 Worlds Music, have now said (via the BBC): “All we wish to say at this time is that Oritsé denies the allegations against him.
“The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment any further.”
Oritsé performed at the Gorgeous club in Wolverhampton on Thursday 1 December, reports The Sun on Sunday, and it is alleged that the incident took place in a hotel, after the gig.
Police confirmed to the paper that a rape investigation is underway, with a spokesperson stating: “West Midlands Police were called to a Wolverhampton hotel at 7.45am on Friday December 2 after an allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman.
Oritsé found fame with JLS on ‘X Factor’, and in the years since their 2013 split has pursued a solo career.
The Huffington Post UK have contacted his agent for comment.
