Debbie McGee has revealed her intention of appearing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to pay tribute to her late husband, Paul Daniels.
She has said she hopes she can land a place on the next series of the hit BBC show, in memory of the celebrated magician, who had a memorable few weeks on the show back in 2010.
Speaking to The Sun, Debbie said: “Paul was on Strictly Come Dancing and that’s something I’d just love to do in his memory.
‘Strictly’ pro Kevin Clifton has already backed Debbie as a contestant on the new series, adding: “I could definitely see producers pairing her with me – she’s the perfect height.”
Paul died back in March, shortly after it was revealed that he’d been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.
His former ‘Strictly’ partner, Ola Jordan, was among the first stars to pay tribute to him following the news of his death, writing at the time: “Just heard the devastating news about my amazing dance partner Paul. It was a pleasure and honour to work with you.”
