Paula Lane has given birth to a baby girl.
The former Coronation Street actress announced the arrival of her second child with husband Tom Shaw on Thursday 28 July.
“She’s here! The latest addition to the Shaw clan is doing great,” Lane wrote on Twitter.
“@SirTomShaw and I are feeling blessed and very lucky.”
The announcement came just two weeks after Lane’s character Kylie Platt was killed off in the ITV soap.
Lane will be taking a career break to focus on raising her newborn daughter and her 19-month-old son Arthur.
Lane previously said going back to work when her son was 11 weeks old was “too soon”.
“I feel like I’ve got to nurture this new baby,” she told OK! Magazine.
“Arthur only had 11 weeks with me before I went back to work. I’ve done six years of solid work so I think I owe it to myself to have a natural break.”
Lane had revealed on the 14 June that she planned to use hypnobirthing techniques during labour.
Shaw revealed that Lane had indeed been able to use the hypnobirthing techniques she’d learned when he tweeted to thank friends and fans for their well-wishes, and gave a shout out to Hypnobirthing coach Katherine Graves.
Congratulations to the couple and big brother Arthur!
