Ant and Dec won yet another gong at last night’s TV Choice Awards, but they didn’t get Piers Morgan’s vote.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ host couldn’t resist having a dig at Ant McPartlin after he and Declan Donnelly won the award for Best Entertainment Show for ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’.
Dec ended up presenting the last two episodes of this year’s series alone following Ant’s arrest for drink driving, something that didn’t go unnoticed by Piers on Tuesday morning’s ‘GMB’.
The presenter, who wasn’t up for an award, said: “I’ve decided not to go to any more awards ceremonies. My award comes every day from you the viewers...
“Ant and Dec winning everything when one half of them isn’t even there - it’s ridiculous, isn’t it?”
He then added: “At least I pitched up for work.”
Neither Ant or Dec were at last night’s bash to collect their award, with Ant continuing is recovery out of the limelight and Dec busy with his newborn baby who arrived last week.
It’s not the first time Piers has taken a swipe at Ant. Earlier this year he said the troubled star did not “deserve sympathy” after Ant was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
During a discussion about the TV presenter’s court case on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Piers said: “He does not deserve sympathy… I have partied with him in the past.”
Piers, who worked alongside Ant when he was a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, previously claimed the presenter was “not the guy he knows” following his fall from grace.
“He’s definitely changed, no question,” Piers said. “I’ve known Ant a long time and I like him very much, but I wonder if he’s getting a little bit too much of arm round, ‘are you OK, mate?’ and not enough, ‘mate, what are you doing?’”
“This Ant McPartlin is not the guy I know. His life is faltering and tormented for some reason. I’d like to see him off TV for a long time as he came back too soon [after rehab].”
Last month it was confirmed that Holly Willoughby will replace Ant on this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter will join Declan Donnelly to co-host the upcoming series of the ITV reality show, which will air in November.
