Piers Morgan has accused Gordon Ramsay of cashing-in on veganism, after the celebrity chef told him to “go fuck himself”.
Gordon was left angered earlier this week, after the Good Morning Britain presenter claimed one of his vegan dishes looked “utterly revolting”.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show, Gordon then bit back, telling host James Corden: “So Piers Morgan is now a food critic?! Go and fuck yourself! Seriously?! Really?”
And if you thought Piers wasn’t going to take being told to “fuck himself” lying down, you’d be right.
Responding to the chef’s comments on Twitter, Piers wrote: “Is this the same @GordonRamsay who when asked in 2016 if he had any allergies, replied ‘vegans’ - and who last year tweeted that PETA stands for ‘People Eating Tasty Animals’?”
After one of his followers accused Piers of being a “troll” with his comments, Piers was unrelenting in his attack.
He tweeted: “Gordon hasn’t changed his mind about vegans because he’s suddenly seen the vegan light.. he’s changed his mind so he can cash in on this absurd new craze to eat tasteless gruel.”
Piers was referring to comments Gordon made as recently as February last year, when he was spouting off about being a proud carnivore, saying: “I’m a member of PETA! People eating tasty animals.”
However, Gordon did explain his change of heart on The Late Late Show, saying: “Veganism is on the rise, we’ve got to adapt and eat a slice of humble pie.”
Piers is famously anti-vegan, and got his knickers in a right old bunch earlier this year, when Greggs released a vegan sausage roll.
