The Pride Of Britain awards might be a few weeks off, but can we just give Harry Hill one already?
The comedian did the nation proud on Wednesday’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ when he delivered a sucker punch to Piers Morgan in pie form, following his comments about men carrying babies in papooses.
Harry was on the ITV morning show to chat about his forthcoming stand-up tour with Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid.
But towards the end of the interview, the ‘TV Burp’ star lined up a shaving foam pie as he declared he was taking revenge “for all those men that wear papooses”.
Cue Harry planting the pie in Piers’ face, telling him: “It’s for Ross Kemp and for Daniel Craig.”
As Susanna laughed along, Piers then took it upon himself to pie his colleague and try and get his own back on Harry.
Earlier this week, Piers took to Twitter after James Bond star Daniel Craig was snapped with his baby in a papoose.
It prompted Piers to tweet: “Oh 007.. not you as well?!!!” Adding the hashtags ‘#papoose’ and ‘#emasculatedBond’.
The tweet sparked immediate outrage from parents on Twitter, with many fathers sharing pictures of them carrying their babies in similar carriers.
Even ‘Captain America’ star Chris Evans joined in the debate, tweeting a fierce rebuttal of Piers interpretation of masculinity.
He wrote: “You really have to be so uncertain of your own masculinity to concern yourself with how another man carries his child. Any man who wastes time quantifying masculinity is terrified on the inside.”
‘Good Morning Britain’ airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
