Piers Morgan has suggested the way to make room for Syrian refugees in the UK is to “deport all the white trash racist scum”.
The journalist and presenter was adding to the debate around calls for dental checks to determine the age of child refugees when he lamented the political climate of Britain.
His tweets prompted accusations of ignorance of the real issues and “virtue-signalling”.
Morgan disagreed and responded by briefly detailing his experience before making his suggestion to solve the entire issue.
Many people took issue with his statement.
But Morgan was ready to hit back.
The row over child refugees has been rumbling all week, led by Gary Lineker who has been embroiled in a bitter dispute with The Sun.
A new movement is attempting to troll the tabloid by voting for the presenter for an award it sponsors.
Lineker is nominated in the “best presenter” category in the National Television Awards to be held on 25th January.
The Sun is a partner for the event alongside eight others and quite a few people have used social media to urge people to vote for the former England player.
