Piers Morgan proved what a bad loser he is after Good Morning Britain lost out to rivals This Morning at Monday night’s TV Choice Awards.
When the GMB host took to the stage to present Lorraine Kelly with the Outstanding Contribution award, he didn’t hold back in blasting This Morning after the long-running programme took home the Best Daytime Show award for the fourth year in a row.
Initially congratulating his ITV colleagues, Piers said: “Love you so much. Actually I don’t love you I hate you, you snivelling little bastards. Every time we come to these things I am told it’s our time.”
And then things took an even more sweary turn as Piers joked: “It’s never our time, it’s always their time, fuck you and fuck your awards.”
Piers’ expletive-laden rant wasn’t the only memorable speech of the evening.
Springwatch presenter Chris Packham was booed by some sections of the showbiz crowd after he accused I’m A Celebrity of “abusing animals” as he collected an award on behalf of Blue Planet.
Chris implored the audience of TV acting talent and producers to change their habits and help the environment - before taking a swipe at I’m A Celebrity.
To groans of discomfort from some of the audience, the Blue Planet Live presenter ended his speech by saying he had another “duty” to carry out, and asked I’m A Celebrity to change its way.
Addressing the reality show’s presenters, crew and producers directly, he said: “I’m A Celebrity, can you please think about no longer abusing animals on your programme?”
Despite prompting boos from some members of the audience, his extended speech also prompted loud applause from others.
