Police have arrested a knifeman who attacked a woman commuter at a busy train station in London.
Officers were called to Bank Station after reports of disturbance on platform 4, where Northern Line trains depart towards High Barnet, just before 7am this morning.
British Transport Police [BTP] said the perpetrator assaulted a fellow passenger with a "bladed article" and was swiftly arrested.
The victim, a 25-year-old woman, escaped uninjured.
In a statement, the force said: "Officers were called to Bank London Underground station at 6.49am today, Friday, 22 April 2016 following reports of a disturbance on platform 4.
"On arrival officers arrested a man in connection with an assault on a woman and for possession of a bladed article. The woman, aged 25, hasn’t been injured.
"We believe the arrested man travelled on the Northern line prior to the incident and may have been behaving erratically. Anyone who may have witnessed the man or the incident is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 - quoting reference 64 of 22/4."
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
