'Our Little Bump': As Prince Harry Shares His Baby Nickname, Parents Reveal Theirs

Splodge, Madam or... Prince Porkchop 👶🏼🥩

Prince Harry has debuted his and Meghan’s nickname for their baby-to-be while giving a speech in New Zealand during the couple’s royal tour.

Telling the crowds how happy he was to be visiting, Harry said: “From myself and my wife and our little bump, we are so grateful to be here. We bring blessings from my grandmother the Queen and our family.”

Calling your impending arrival a “little bump” isn’t so unusual, so we decided to ask our readers what nicknames they gave their babies before they were born.

From Little Nittle to Kate-Short-For-Bob, here’s what we got...

Fruitman

We called our 2nd Fruitman because we had one of those books that tells you how big your baby is relative to a fruit which we used to read to our oldest child and she came up with it!

Moomin

We called him The Moomin, actually we still call him Moomin occasionally...

Pumpkin

Madam and Hiccup

My first was called Madam because that’s exactly what ‘she’ was (according to our gender scan). Until I gave birth to a boy 😂.

My second was called Hiccup because that’s all he ever did 😂

Splodge and Dot

Baby number one was Splodge while baby number two (due this week) has been Dot. Both because we had to have early scans around six/seven weeks and they looked like splodges and dots respectively.

Schrodenberg and Blast

Schrodenberg for the first one (a portmanteau of Schrodinger and Heisenberg- for less high brow reasons than it sounds) and Blast for my second (short for Blastocyst)

KSFB and Ponti

1st 'Kate-short-for-Bob', aka KSFB - turned out to be a girl. 2nd Ponti (short for 'Teeny-tiny-Pontipine', but we didn't want KSFB to think I was actually having a Pontipine) - boy
