Kate Middleton is on her way to becoming a fashion icon, but Princess Diana paved the way in terms of impeccable style. Born Diana Frances Spencer to a prominent British family, she attended boarding school in England and went on to marry Prince Charles in 1981. Although the pair split in 1996, Diana spent her reign as the Princess of Wales and her time thereafter influencing thousands of women around the world with her long evening gowns and short hairdo. Lady Di always looked amazing, and there is no telling how she would have gone on to influence fashion if she were still alive today.
In this 1971 photo, the 10-year-old Princess Di is almost unrecognizable. A trendsetter from a young age, she wore a black felt hat and a blush-colored blouse. Her famous blonde locks are longer than she wore them in her adult years, but her rosy cheeks and deep set eyes are signature Diana. It's hard to imagine the Princess of Wales as a tot, but it appears as though good style was an innate gift. Are you planning on channeling this Royal's floppy hat?
