Police officers and volunteers from Isle Of Wight search and rescue are conducting searches in the area.

Members of the Wootton community have been asked to help by checking sheds, boats and outbuildings.

Colleagues from PGL have also been out searching while Johnson’s family are thought to have flown down from Scotland overnight to be close to the ongoing investigation, according to a report by local news website Island Echo.

Police confirmed her family are being supported and kept up to date with the search.

Inspector Andy McDonald, said: “We have serious concerns for Rosie’s welfare. Information suggests she is still on the island so this is where we are focussing our search. However, we would ask anyone with any information about her whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.

He added that residents will notice a lot of activity in the area today while we carry out our enquiries.

“If they have any concerns, they are encouraged to come and talk to us,” he said.
