However, the announcement that Drag Race judge Michelle Visage is set to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing came with some long-awaited news.

Buried in a press release sent to journalists confirming Michelle’s participation in the show was a line revealing Drag Race UK will arrive on BBC Three in October.

While the BBC are remaining tight-lipped when it comes to specific air dates, the announcement has been met with celebration.

Joining Ru and Michelle on the panel each week will be Alan Carr and Graham Norton in rotating appearances, while a number of other guest judges have already been confirmed.

Among them are former X Factor judge Cheryl, legendary model Twiggy, Hollywood star Andrew Garfield, Chewing Gum’s Michaela Coel, Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix and Spice Girls singer Geri Horner.

Last year’s Strictly champ Stacey Dooley and daytime TV’s Lorraine Kelly will also participate in the British Snatch Game, while Strictly pro AJ Pritchard will team up with brother and Love Island contestant Curtis to take on a coaching role on the series, joining singer and producer MNEK.

Michelle was the ninth star to be confirmed for this year’s Strictly on Monday morning, and will be competing on the BBC ballroom show alongside the likes of comedian Chris Ramsey, YouTuber Saffron Barker, former footballer David James, soap star Emma Barton and former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldsley.
