In the years since he first came to our attention as an X Factor contestant (or on Signed By Katie Price, if you were tuning into that), Rylan Clark-Neal has worked with plenty of big names in showbiz.
But the singer-turned-presenter has admitted that he’s not pals with all of them, revealing how some famous faces have left him unimpressed.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Rylan explains that “people always ask me if I’m best friends with everyone I work with in telly”, adding: “But no, not everyone you work with is your friend.”
“Some of the people I work with talk to people like shit, but I treat the runner on my TV shows exactly the same as I do the executive producers,” he continued. “What’s the point of pretending you’re mates with everyone?”
What’s the point, indeed.
Rylan does stop short at naming and shaming though, so his impolite colleagues have been spared the embarrassment.
While the absence of Big Brother this year means we’ll be missing out on seeing Rylan host Bit On The Side, he has popped up on a number of other shows and recently took part in celebrity versions of The Apprentice and Great British Bake Off.
The shows, which both raised money for different charities, saw Rylan pushed well out his comfort zone – something which was clear when he presented what can only be described as a poo-shaped cake to the judges.
And revealing what it was like taking part in Celebrity Apprentice, Rylan described the experience as “potentially the worst three days of my life”.
“You’re only allowed to do certain things at certain times, which is obviously what makes a TV show,” he said. “It was like I was a contestant on The X Factor again where you’re not in control.
“I’ve worked so hard for the last seven years to be in control of when I go for a wee. And to be told I can’t go for a wee yet... I just found it really difficult!”
Still, at least it was all for a good cause.
