On the morning of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ final, all eyes are on Prue Leith’s social media pages to see whether she repeats her infamous faux pas from last year.
Fortunately for her, though, another TV judge has been able to take the heat off her.
After making an impression on the red carpet at the Pride Of Britain awards on Monday night, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Shirley Ballas made a rather unfortunate faux pas on her Instagram account, as she shared a photo from the event.
Strictly’s head judge certainly turned heads on the red carpet, thanks in no small part to the whopping big ring she was sporting on her engagement finger, joking to the Express when quizzed about it: “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Although a rep for Shirl was quick to shoot down reports that she’s engaged, it seems Shirley was rather enjoying the stir she was creating, as evidenced in the Instagram post that followed.
While she didn’t mention the ring itself in the picture caption, instead singing the praises of the Pride Of Britain awards, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that she’d accidentally screen-grabbed the Google search that led to her finding the picture, which read: “Shirley Ballas engaged diamond ring.”
Oh dear.
The post, suffice to say, has now been deleted, although it did manage to get more than 700 likes before it was pulled.
Shirley is currently into her second series of ‘Strictly’ as Head Judge, where she offers her weekly critiques alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli.
