Should You Wash Your Legs In The Shower? The Internet Is Divided About Bathroom Routines

It seems we've all got different ideas about what clean really means.

You think as adults you know the basics about how to look after yourself - eat three times a day, take toilet breaks and wash at regular intervals. But how exactly do you do that?

It turns out the age-old washing debate isn’t in fact about whether a bath or shower is better (obvs shower stop wallowing in your own filth people) but in fact which parts of your body are actually getting scrubbed.

The internet has been divided over the question - should you be washing your legs and feet separately? Or is the water and soap from your upper body sufficient to just trickle down your lower half?

Do you wash your legs when you take a shower?

More than 800,000 people have voted in a poll on Twitter asking about leg washing, which shows it’s something we feel very strongly about.

So far 81% saying they did wash their legs but 19% saying they didn’t (we’re betting the 81% also includes some liars who are too embarrassed to admit to the lack of washing).

And there were some strong reactions.

?!?!?!? are there people who do not feel the need to.... wash their legs.......

How does a human get in the shower and only wash "Part" of them? Like what kind of half-ass life are people living??

...I didn't realize there was a choice here

I’m very bothered by the “soap running down my legs counts as washing them” gang. Very. Very.😕

But there were others willing to publicly out themselves as non-leg washers.

They've been safe inside my pants, the whole day. What's the problem

I only do if I've been bare legged or to the gym and they feel sweaty. I used to but when I got eczema on my legs I had to stop as soap made it worse and I was told not to use SLS soaps. It's bad for your skin and mostly unnecessary 💁♀️

Does the shower not automatically do that?

— The Sassiest Semite (@LittleMissLizz) May 11, 2019

I went no because I only do a full body scrub down 1-2 times a week whilst I shower every day. My hair gets to oily and gross to not shower daily but the only body parts I wash every time are hair, pits, crotch, & ass. It’s not great for your skin to wash it daily.

No, I take them off before showering so they’ll last longer.

Some people couldn’t believe we’re even having this conversation.

I honestly do not understand how this is really a topic of conversation among grown ass adults lol

And someone else just wanted to throw a curve ball.

The real question is if people wash their dirty ears and behind them. Most people don’t. When I ask people they’re always surprised by it and say they never think to.. 🤮

BRB, we’re going for a shower.
