Take That fans may have been delighted when Gary Barlow announced plans for a new BBC talent show last month, but one person who’s allegedly not too happy is Simon Cowell.
According to reports, the music mogul - who is also, basically, king of talent show TV - is planning to keep a close watch on Gary, in order to make sure the show isn’t too similar to any that he’s masterminded.
As well as ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, Simon also runs a number of shows overseas, including ‘La Banda’, a South American programme which searches for individuals to make into a band.
A source tells The Mirror: “Simon’s team is keeping a close eye on Gary’s show.
Hm. Now, we get where Simon is coming from, but Gary's plans aren't exactly revolutionary.
His show, ‘Let It Shine’, will search for performers to star in a brand new stage show based on his band’s music.
It’ll be hosted by Graham Norton and Mel Giedroyc, and from the sounds of things, it’ll be more like the Beeb’s previous programmes ‘Over The Rainbow’, ‘I’d Do Anything’, ‘Any Dream Will Do’ and ‘How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?’, than ‘X Factor’ or ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
