For the second time in two days Tommy Robinson – real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – has had a milkshake thrown over him.
The far-right activist, who is standing in the European elections, was canvassing for support in Warrington when a man chucked a McDonald’s milkshake over his head.
Cheshire Police are investigating the incident after Yaxley-Lennon made an allegation of assault.
In the video of the incident, he can be heard telling the man that another person, presumably a friend of his, had been aggressive and had pushed a woman.
The unidentified man holding the cup shakes his head and says ‘no’, before tipping the contents all Yaxley-Lennon, who then throws a few punches before being pulled off.
Another man can be heard yelling: “That’s what you get for being a fascist.”
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “We are aware of an allegation of assault made following an incident in Bridge Street in Warrington this afternoon. We are looking into the circumstances.”
Another video shared on social media on Thursday shows Yaxley-Lennon being driven away in a police car.
Samuel Mercer, filming the scene can be heard on the video saying: “This guy needed a f****** police escort he can’t get through the crowds.”
He adds: “Absolutely unbelievable.”
On Wednesday, a milkshake was thrown over him in Bury.
On Tuesday, a video of him being confronted by a woman over his recent contempt of court charges and Muslim grooming gangs went viral.
The English Defence League founder is standing as an MEP candidate in the North West of England constituency.
