Southern Rail Strike Is Bringing Out Every Commuter's Inner Comedian

Commutes are in jeopardy across the South.

Members of staff employed by Southern Rail are on strike today in a dispute over plans to reduce the number of conductors on their services.

The disruption caused havoc on many commuter routes, and as usual Londoners vented their frustration in the only way they know how - taking the mick on Twitter.

I feel like quoting Captain Lawrence Oates every time I leave the house ... "I am just going outside and may be some time" #SouthernStrike

That's great, Euan, but I think you're missing the point of a timetable... #SouthernStrike pic.twitter.com/LGmBDUZRNV

I bought my son a train set and made him wait 32 minutes before he could play with it

Tbh wouldn't have even noticed there's a #SouthernStrike, cos there's never any bloody trains anyway.

The strike is likely to affect Southern services all day, so we can expect many more disgruntled jokesters taking to Twitter during the evening commute.

There will be no service on some routes and limited trains on others.

Southern has released a revised timetable and map to guide passengers through the walk-out.
