The much-hyped Spice Girls reunion has been served another blow after Mel C decided to pull out.
Mel’s decision to not take part in the anniversary plans follows Victoria Beckham’s refusal to join the girls to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the girl group’s debut single, ‘Wannabe’.
Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are said to still be in discussions about marking the occasion.
According to reports, the trio are even considering recruiting two new members through a X Factor-style TV show.
A source told the Sun: “Mel C is out of the reunion for now.
At the height of their fame in the 90’s, the five-piece sold more than 85million records and conquered every corner of the globe.
When they reunited in 2007, their tour made £107million in ticket sales and merchandise.
Five years later, they were back again, this time for a one-off performance at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
Earlier this year, Mel B spoke about the potential reunion, saying on 'This Morning': “I would love it, I think it would be a shame not to do anything to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Hopefully something will happen. Watch this space I guess...”
