Jess Glynne has said she’s “extremely frustrated” after having to pull out of a performance at the Isle Of Wight festival at the eleventh hour.
On Sunday, a day after wrapping up her supporting slot on the Spice Girls’ UK tour, Jess had scheduled to perform on the Isle Of Wight, where she was due on stage at 6.30pm.
However, 10 minutes after her performance had been due to start, festival organiser John Giddings arrived on stage to explain that Jess would no longer be appearing.
Though he offered no reason at the time, a tweet sent from the festival’s official social media page later confirmed her no-show was due to exhaustion.
A rep for Jess Glynne said on Sunday: “Jess had every intention of performing today at Isle Of Wight. However as the show got closer it became apparent that she was physically exhausted after a very intense last few weeks of touring. As a result we took the decision to the cancel the show.”
They added: “Jess is extremely frustrated and apologises to all her fans but ultimately her health must come first.”
Jess recently joined the Spice Girls as the opening act on their Spice World 2019 tour, and a night before her scheduled Isle Of Wight appearance, delivered her third consecutive performance at Wembley Stadium.
Last month, Jess pulled out of a performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, again just hours before she was due to take to the stage, having “lost her voice”.
Radio 1 DJ Greg James later revealed that her band had already arrived at the venue when Jess cancelled, tweeting: “It was too late to tell the band and they’ve turned up and can’t leave as the bus driver has worked too many hours so they’ve all decided to go into town and watch Aladdin.”
