Joe Swash has announced the early arrival of his new baby with partner Stacey Solomon – with a heartfelt post on both his and her Instagram account.
“This morning. A lot earlier than planned I watched the love of my life, bring a new life into the world,” wrote Swash, 37, alongside a candid photo of Solomon swaddling their newborn child in bed.
“We are overwhelmed, overjoyed and apprehensive of what’s to come. Mummy and baby are well and resting,” he continued. “We are so grateful for all of the love, support and positivity we’ve received over the last 8 months.”
The couple, who met on I’m A Celebrity, announced their pregnancy – a third child for Solomon and a second for Swash – in January when they posted a scan on social media.
Since then the Loose Women presenter, 29, has shared all the ups and downs of being pregnant – from stretch marks to exhaustion. “I’m just trying to enjoy it while I’m awake,” she admitted in one post, “which isn’t a lot.”
The family now look set to spend some much-needed time away from the cameras. “I’m lost for words to describe how I’m feeling,” wrote Swash as celebrity colleagues were quick to offer their congratulations to the pair.
Solomon’s fellow Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha wrote: “Oh my god !!!! Oh my god!!! So so so happy for you all my darlings !!!!!!!”, while co-host Jane Moore, joked: “Guess you won’t be doing the show tomorrow then!!”
Fearne Cotton commented on the photo: “Wow what a beautifully powerful picture! I’m thrilled for you both.”
In an echo of Prince Harry’s comments after watching his wife Meghan Markle give birth to royal baby Archie, Swash said: “I didn’t think it possible but, today I witnessed the impossible. My partner, My love, my life, you are a super human. I am forever in awe”.
