Louise Redknapp is the latest star to sign up for the new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 41-year-old - who shot to fame as a member of the girl group Eternal in the 1990s - has finally signed up after years of being asked to take part on the BBC dance show.
A source told the Sun: “Louise has been top of the Strictly hit list for years. She’s a huge star and they feel she will bring class and glamour.
Louise is set to be joined on the ‘Strictly’ dancefloor by other stars including daytime TV star Judge Rinder, TV presenter Angelica Bell, Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker, ‘Downton Abbey’ actress Michelle Dockery, TV presenter Laura Whitmore and US singer Anastacia.
But one person who definitely won’t be donning a sequinned outfit and strutting their stuff in front of millions each week is Louise's husband, former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp.
Speaking about the show last year, he said: “I would rather eat my own hand. I’m not joking.
“It’s a good show, I respect anyone who does it, but I couldn’t do it. I would be so self-conscious, I would hate every second of it.
“The thought of wearing those tight outfits and trying to dance, it’s honestly horrendous.
“Every year my name is rumoured but, I’m telling you now, I will never ever get on that dancefloor.”
