Craig Revel Horwood couldn’t resist a dig at Strictly Come Dancing professional Anton Du Beke on Saturday night, as Motsi Mabuse reclaimed her seat on the judging panel.

Motsi has now returned to the Strictly ballroom, prompting a typically cutting comment from Craig.

As Craig critiqued Bill Bailey’s most recent performance, some members of the cast and crew were heard voicing their disapproval, to which the judge joked: “Is that Anton booing from the cheap seats, darling?”

“Sorry, Anton,” he continued. “But you’re no longer up here.”

The studio then descended into mass booing, with Tess Daly commenting: “He loves that sound.”

“That’s more like it,” Craig added with a grin. “That fills me with excitement.”

Craig previously teased that Anton might be “like Trump… hard to get rid of” when the time came for the regular professional to hang up his judging paddle.

Saturday night’s live show saw HRVY and Janette Manrara smash a Strictly record previously held by Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice, landing the earliest perfect score in the show’s history.

Sadly, not everyone had such a strong week, though, with Radio 1 presenter and Strictly fan favourite Clara Amfo and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec landing at the bottom of the leaderboard for the second week in a row.

Find out how the seven remaining Strictly pairs have fared in the voting in Sunday night’s results show, airing at 7.25pm on BBC One.
