Throughout this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, viewers have been picking up on the fact judge Craig Revel Horwood is being rather on the stingy side when it comes to dishing out points.
However, he’s now hit back at this idea, insisting it’s actually the rest of the panel who are being overzealous when it comes to rating the contestants.
He told The Sun: “There is a lot of competition this year and because the level is so high I have to be nit-picky – I mean someone’s got to be.
Craig also had a word of warning for this year’s ‘Strictly’ professionals, adding: “Some of the pro dancers are protecting their partners at the moment.
‘Strictly’ fans will recall the week in question, during which Craig gave Greg and Natalie just four points for their Rumba routine, with reports later claiming that the Olympic long-jumper kicked off backstage.
While Greg later downplayed the reports, Craig said: “I heard about it. If it was anything I said about his dancing then that’s really a bit silly because it’s me making a comment and you should never take anything personally.”
On Saturday night (19 November), the remaining seven contestants will perform live from Blackpool Tower, from 6.55pm on BBC One.
